In effetti avresti potuto spiegare meglio come il custode si sia fatto questo film mentale in cui MrsPurr è un'animagus.

Risposta dell'Autore: L'idea era proprio mettere a contrasto la scena dai contorni sicuri e limpidi alla Testa di Porco con la fantasia di Gazza, che doveva restare torbida. Ci sono tanti tipi di follia e spesso è tanto lucida da confondersi con la realtà anche per chi la osserva in terza persona oltre che per chi ne è protagonista. Ma la realtà è la realtà, alla fine. Volevo che fosse un'idea convincente ma che non fosse troppo dettagliata, per sottolineare la condizione alienata di Gazza. Non so se ho reso l'idea... In effetti mi convinco sempre di più di dover iniziare a cercare un beta, che se non altro abbia la forza di impedirmi di pubblicare subito dopo aver finito di scrivere...

Innanzittutto complimenti per l'idea originale... Apprezzo il fatto che tu abbia voluto giocare con i personaggi minori della saga. E la storia tiene sospesi fono alla scioglimento.

Per essere, come mio solito, brutalmente sincera, devo dire che non l'ho interamente apprezzata (giudizio che non ha però nulla a che spartire con un più drastico "non mi è piaciuta"). L'idea è senza dubbio estremamente originale (ma trattandosi di te la cosa non mi sorprende affatto), audace nella scelta dei personaggi (tra i tanti che, ahimè, non è soltanto il fandom ad ignorare, ma l'autrice stessa della saga), coinvolgente nel tentativo che fa di portare alla luce le sofferenze del protagonista, ma proprio qui, a mio avviso, sta anche il suo limite e difetto: rimane un semplice tentativo. Ho infatti trovato poco approfondita la parte dedicata ad Argus Gazza, che avrei invece ampliato maggiormente, a discapito di quella relativa ad Arabella ed Albus, eccessivamente dispersiva. L'intento è sì chiaro (non svelare subito tutte le carte in tavola), ma nonostante ciò l'effetto che ne deriva non giova al racconto, soprattutto vista la brevità dei brani che si alternano (e tu sai quanto io, generalmente, adori invece questo genere di intreccio!). Credo che la storia sarebbe stata sviluppata meglio non certo eliminando il filone che si svolge alla Testa di Porco, ma perlomeno rendendolo più marginale, magari inserito alla fine, dopo un brano che analizzasse meglio e il personaggio di Gazza, e la storia della donna/gatta. Traendo le conclusioni: la critica è rivolta allo sviluppo e a nient'altro, temo tu non abbia sfruttato appieno l'idea (ottima e intrigante) che hai avuto.

Però il tuo è un commento che hanno fatto in tanti, quindi è possibile che presto o tardi ne esca una seconda versione. Ora non credo, ho già troppe idee che mi ronzano nella testa...

Argus ha un grande attaccamento verso la sua gatta, specialmente perchè è l'unico essere che lo aiuta nel suo passatempo preferito: vendicarsi di quei "mocciosi" che ritiene irresponsabili e inconsci della fortuna che hanno avuto, ricevendo il dono della magia (anche se con parole diverse, credo che sia questo il concetto che hai espresso). Eppure io non immagino Gazza innamorato, della sua gatta poi.. concordo sul fatto che sia pazzo, e non dubito del fatto che sicuro avrà avuto l'occasione di innamorarsi, o comunque di infatuarsi, ma credere che "la sua donna" possa essersi incarnata nella gatta.. non so, pazzo fino a questo punto? Fino a cercare qualcosa che lo aiuti a superare lo sconforto provocato dalla mancanza di magia? Forse.. ma comunque sia il tuo punto di vista è interessante.
La cosa inoltre che mi ha colpito di più è il barista della Testa di Porco: mi hai messo una curiosità tale che credo andrò a rileggermi il 5° libro, per capire cosa ti ha indotto a pensare (perchè credo sia una supposizione, visto che la Row non dice niente di certo su Aberfoth) che il barista sia il fratello di Silente, e che addirittura lui ne sia a conoscenza.. Anche questo personaggio mi affascina molto, non deve aver avuto una vita facile come fratello maggiore e fallito del mago più famoso e più potente del mondo... La prima bozza che ho scritto di questa storia era più chiara sulla follia di Gazza e raccontava più dettagli della sua illusoria storia d'amore, con il sacrificio di questa donna che sceglie di essere gatto pur di restare con lui, ma poi ho deciso di tagliare perché diventava melensa e inutilmente lunga. E poi era da qualche tempo pensavo anche a un possibile legame tra la Figg e Gazza: cioé, è possibile che gli unici due Maghinò fin qui incontrati abbiano perso qualche rotella e venerino i gatti per una pura coincidenza?
